The kitchen

I thought I would write in case I really do have people reading this blog. If so, you are probably wondering why there are no more kitchen updates or photos. The reason is because 1. the kitchen still is not complete and 2. I do not like it at all. The kitchen ended just before Halloween so we've been back in business since then. But the backsplash is still not done (it is purchased and sitting in the basement) and we need it to be installed. And after that comes paint. There are no photos of the finished kitchen because I do not like the finished product and have not taken any pictures. The work was done fine by the contractor. It's everything we chose that I hate. I hate the dark cabinets, the counters, the hardware, that stainless appliances (especially the french door refrigerator). Need I go on? This is the first and likely the last remodeling project that Dave and I will ever do together. I do like the layout, the wood floors are fine too and having a gas range is good to have again. We just had no idea what this kind of thing entailed and were foolish to take it on. (especially with two small kids, mainly a newborn!) We threw away a lot of money and way too much time on something I hate to look at everyday. I know we added value to the house so that's good and will come in handy when we sell (which at this point is probably going to be sooner than later). Oh, my blog friends there is so much to catch up on. But for now I have to go to bed before little Miss Emily wakes me. Hopefully blogger will fix their glitch that won't allow me to upload photos from my computer and I can get a few more posts on here tomorrow. Good night.
