Getting ready for the big day

Hugging our tree

Getting ready for Santa pictures. (he's practicing his smile in the mirror)

This is what the Grinch would look like.

We love this Santa! We have gone to him every year. You bring a bag of food to donate to the food bank. They take a few photos and then Rite Aid prints them for free. I love it! This year our visit couldn't have been any better. Right away Santa told him he noticed how big he's grown since last year. When Harrison asked for an AT AT Walker Santa knew what it was and asked if he wants any Jedis. It was great!

Black Friday

Believe it or not I'm heading out in just under 6 hours from now for some Black Friday shopping at Target. Crazy? I know. I got caught up in the frenzy once before for Walmart and I waited HOURS just to get in the store!! I don't even shop at Walmart or like Walmart. I have no idea what happened to me. I didn't realize I'd have to wait in line just to get into the store. I swore I'd never do it again. Here I am... about to head to bed but first set the alarm clock. Anyone that knows me will know that I HATE waking up; I'm super grumpy in the morning. (ask Harrison) Wish me luck tomorrow. Target is my favorite store but I have no idea what to expect. I have only one thing I'm really hoping for and then the normal Target things - tissue, toilet paper...

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner tonight at our good friends the Cudes' house and when she caught wind that I was headed to the sale in the morning she have me HER list!

Check back later for a Black Friday update.

p.s. I'm done Christmas shopping already! I just need to wrap and ship! Yea!!

Halloween

Everything in our life is Star Wars right now. So, meet my son the Clone Trooper. We were lucky that our good friends Catrina and Carson were able to visit us from (warm) Southern California for some good old (cold and wet) Northwest trick-or-treating.

Rewind: August

Open house at the Southwest Precinct. Harrison LOVED the police robot.

Swim class at Colman Pool. It's not often you get an opportunity to swim at an outdoor pool in Seattle so we did two sessions there this summer.

Face in - nice job Harrison!

Touring the USS Green Bay during Fleet Week.

I love when the Blue Angels come to town every summer! This year we skipped the practice show over Lake Washington and instead went to Boeing Field to watch them take off.

And they were really loud when they started their engines.

Mariner game with daddy.

Camping with Henry and his parents on San Juan Island. It was SO beautiful there.

I encountered these two slugs at the campground. What is that white thing between them?

Later they had a friend there and the white thing had changed into two? Was this a menage a trois? Fascinating.

Lime Kiln Point State Park. This is supposed to be the best place to spot Orcas. Guess how many we saw? ZERO. I guess I expected to see a Seaworld type show and it's not that easy.

S'mores face.

Trust me when I say there is a pod of Orcas in this photo! I SWEAR! We were on the ferry back to Seattle when the Captain slowed the ferry down considerably because the whales were spotted. It was my birthday and what a present! It was amazing.

We still have the firetruck bed. Bunkbeds are up next but it's awfully hard to part with such a cool bed.

Harrison's babysitter tired him out at the zoo. She brought him home like this so I offered to give her a few magazines and asked her to just go park somewhere with him so he could sleep. (I'd pay her, of course!) She was busy so instead of waking him we unbuckled his seat and carried it into the house.

Harrison and Owen at Hiawatha Park. We were there to watch Caspar Babypants.
